Fresh leaks have now confirmed that previous names mentioned in earlier leaks are new personalities, not weapons. There are eleven of them total, meaning more characters are discharged than currently exist within the game since there are only eight live at this time, six free and two, Mirage and Caustic, which can be purchased for real-world money.
Without getting into the nitty gritty here is the list:
Of these, further escapes indicate that Octane has some type of stimpack-based ability very similar to that which we saw at Titanfall, and Wattson has some sort of electric trap as a power. But even if there have been no particular ability leaks, given how Apex Legends names its characters, it's possible to make some fairly educated guesses about their skill. So far, all characters in Apex have names which directly reflect aspects of the skills.
Bloodhound -- Tracks people
Lifeline -- Heals Folks
Gibraltar -- The"Rock of Gibraltar" implies a powerful, defense enthusiast.
Wraith -- Has ghost moves/teleports
Caustic -- Poisons individuals
Mirage -- Produces a...mirage
Bangalore -- Is a Kind of missile, calls down missiles.
Pathfinder -- Everything about mobility and scouting
So, with this concept, what do we guess about these two, Octane and eliminating Wattson because we seem to know what they do:
Nomad -- One thing to do with movement, maybe something with battling alone rather than close teammates
Prophet -- Predicting something, maybe finding good products?
Husaria -- Named after the"Winged Hussars," Polish cavalry from centuries past. I doubt that they ride a horse, so maybe something with airport or wings. Jetpack?
Jericho -- Jericho implies some Type of wall, but Jericho, such as Bangalore, is also a Sort of missile.
Rampart -- There is a wall/barricade mechanic like it's going to be ported over here at some point because everything is, so through this character which seems
Blackout -- Has something to do with disabling enemy abilities or glitching their map or something.
Crypto -- Some Type of hacker persona that could also theoretically be a Sombra-like ability-disabling character
Skinner -- Scottish slang for "a strong aversion or dislike." Though it seems likely, this character will be Scottish what that means for combat I am not clear on.
Rosie -- "The Riveter" comes to mind, so perhaps she builds things?
Stop right there criminal scum!
